Why good people and bad people existed on this earth?

Mt 13:24-43
Jesus proposed another parable to the crowds, saying:
“The kingdom of heaven may be likened
to a man who sowed good seed in his field.
While everyone was asleep his enemy came
and sowed weeds all through the wheat, and then went off.
When the crop grew and bore fruit, the weeds appeared as well.
The slaves of the householder came to him and said,
‘Master, did you not sow good seed in your field?
Where have the weeds come from?’
He answered, ‘An enemy has done this.’
His slaves said to him,
‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’
He replied, ‘No, if you pull up the weeds
you might uproot the wheat along with them.
Let them grow together until harvest;
then at harvest time I will say to the harvesters,
“First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles for burning;
but gather the wheat into my barn.”’”

This is the reason good people and bad people existed on this earth. God is patient with all of us and giving opportunity to change. Weeds can’t become Wheat. But humans can change themselves to good/better/best humans to please the God.

Sower, Seeds and Soil

Mt 13:1-23 or 13:1-9

On that day, Jesus went out of the house and sat down by the sea.
Such large crowds gathered around him
that he got into a boat and sat down,
and the whole crowd stood along the shore.
And he spoke to them at length in parables, saying:
“A sower went out to sow.
And as he sowed, some seed fell on the path,
and birds came and ate it up.
Some fell on rocky ground, where it had little soil.
It sprang up at once because the soil was not deep,
and when the sun rose it was scorched,
and it withered for lack of roots.
Some seed fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it.
But some seed fell on rich soil, and produced fruit,
a hundred or sixty or thirtyfold.
Whoever has ears ought to hear.”

God given oppertunities to all of us, the way he sowed seeds in all places.
All oppertunities are same like seeds of the same batch.
The problem is with soil. That is me.
We need to keep our heart open and clean to accept God’s word and grow in the path he showed.

Build your house on Rock

What I understood from yesterday’s sermon?

St. Matthew 7:21-27

We are going to learn two things from this passage.
1. Just telling Lord’s name is not enough. We need to do what he asked us to do.
2. We need to strengthen our foundation

I was very impressed by second point.

How many times we show our house foundation to friends? Always we show the house. Everybody appreciates by it looks. Two houses constructed on sand and rock looks same. But we come to know their stability/strength only when storm comes.

We always have catastrophes in our lives.
What will happen when catastrophe strikes us?

1. Loss of friend/relative
2. Loss of job
3. Loss of relationships
4. Disease
5. Accidents

We have two opportunities to escape from this situation
1. Strengthen our foundation by doing what Jesus asked us to do. (Prevention)
2. Keep praying to recover and protect from further damage

What will happen, if we are not doing anything?
Our foundation weakens and we will collapse soon.

Why grief strikes us?
1. Many times it is our sin or mistake
2. Few times it is effect of Satan

When we keep praying, our sins will be forgiven.
When we keep praying, Satan won’t dare to touch us.

Many saints struggled without sin.
Those who suffer without sin, they will become saints.

Never forget the eight beatitudes of Jesus. (St. Matthew 5:3-10)

A good sailor never gives up his compass under any circumstances.

Jesus told that he is the light and path to our lives.
It is better to stick to him and his word to cross this ocean (life).
